Treadle Base Cleaning
As of June 2026, I am no longer able to offer full cabinet restoration and refinishing. Thank you for understanding.
Basic Treadle Maintenance includes gentle cleaning for wood surfaces, and cleaning, lubrication. for iron components. Costs start at $175, and includes a new belt if needed.
Reblacking of the leg irons and fresh gold wax on the emblems is available for an extra cost.
Iron treadle bases that have been exposed to water, heat, or other extreme conditions may incur additional charges for repair or rust removal.
Display Bases
For sewing machines that have become separated from their original bases, we can build and finish a wooden display stand, in your choice of stain. Prices start at $120. Please see our online shop for available models and options.
Wood Case Cleaning
For vintage machines in bentwood cases, I can clean and refresh the wood case to restore the luster of the original wood. Small repairs such as re-gluing joints, and blemish, scratch and small dent removal are also possible.
Sewing Machine Cabinet Restoration FAQ
I can provide a wood display base for an additional fee so you can display the machine on a table or shelf. If you can find a replacement treadle base for the machine and get it to me, I can mount the sewing machine to get it running.
Yes. I partner with a local woodworker for projects like this. Prices will vary based on the project needs, but if you’d like a wood tabletop make for your treadle base, I can offer cleaning and reblacking for the base and attach the tabletop. Please contact me for pricing and details.
