Service Policies
Please read our service policies for helpful information on what to expect as we work on your sewing machine and cabinet.
Waitlist
We keep a waiting list for our painting and restoration services. Pricing is subject to the current offerings when your position becomes available, unless previously discussed and agreed to in writing or email. It is free to remain on the list.
When a position becomes available, we require a modest $200 deposit to secure your pricing and scheduling. If you are no longer interested at the time your position becomes available or are unable to commit at that time, we’ll go to the next person on the waiting list.
Please use this form to get on the waitlist.

Please note that there may be additional charges due to the condition of the machine, parts needed, or extensive repair work. We will always reach out to discuss these before starting the work. The only surprises we want are the delight of the unveiling when your project is done!
Warranty
For maintenance and functional restoration, we offer a Revive Sewing LLC Limited Tune Up Labor Warranty. If, for any reason, your sewing machine fails to perform as expected, bring it back to us. We will service the sewing machine and make sure that it is operating properly.
If the sewing machine breaks, we’ll perform the repair and provide a fresh sewing machine tune-up at no charge for the tune-up. Additional cost for needed parts or specific repair will be not be covered as part of this warranty. Warranty documentation and terms will be provided when we return your machine to you.
If your sewing machine or cabinet had cosmetic restoration, painting, or refinishing services, any cosmetic finishes, additive manufactured parts, paint, clear coat, and decals are NOT covered by this or any other warranty.
If painted, your machine will be top-coated with a catalyst-hardened clear coat that protects the paint underneath. This means the final job is like the paint on a car. If you were to drop scissors on the hood of your car, you’d likely get a mark or blemish. To polish your painting machine, you would use liquid wax, like an automobile, and not oil. Try to avoid scuffing your machine with jewelry, and never put stickers or adhesive on your painted machine. Screw-in seam guides can blemish the finish and possibly crack the finish around the screw holes: don’t use them.
Shipping or Local Pickup/Drop Off
- Local drop-off and pickup is available in the Atlanta area in a 15-mile radius of zip code 30114 in the Canton / Woodstock area. This includes the I-75 corridor that goes through Marietta, Kennesaw, and parts of Cartersville. We can also coordinate pickups and dropoffs at regular meetings of the East Cobb Quilters Guild and Metro Atlanta Contemporary Quilters Guild.
- If you aren’t local to Atlanta:
- The customer pays all shipping both ways. You can estimate your shipping to our zip code 30114.
- There are several excellent videos available on how to pack a sewing machine for shipping. We recommend Jen from Sewing Machine Rehab‘s video as our preferred method, with the addition of a piece of paper inside the box containing both your name and shipping address, as well as ours, for extra security.
- Insurance is recommended inbound and required outbound.
- Completed machines are tested for a proper stitch, and a video is taken and shared with you before shipping.
- If you are requesting restoration on a wooden dome case along with your machine, you MUST ship the dome case separately from the machine. Otherwise, the rough handling in shipping will damage the dome case if the machine is inside the dome, and we won’t be able to restore it if it’s smashed.
- Before shipping, take pictures of your machine from multiple angles before packaging. With the machine packed inside the box, take a photo before closing and taping the top to show off your excellent packing. We’ll record an unboxing video of us opening your machine, so if there is any damage from shipping, your insurance claim should be easily processed.
- Insure your package for a replacement value you consider appropriate and can readily demonstrate to the shipper if they were to challenge the value after a claim. If the shipper damages your machine, what would it cost you to replace it? Our return shipping requires insurance, which will be the value of the machine plus the value of your custom paint job.
- What to send with your machine:
- In order to properly test or restore your machine, we need your complete machine with the bobbin case, knee or foot pedal, bobbin, and appropriate foot and needle plate. Some machines are straight stitch only, but for those that have a zig-zag foot, please include the appropriate foot and needle plate to test the zig-zag function. Otherwise, we can’t guarantee the machine works as expected.
- Don’t ship your case unnecessarily (unless you’ve paid for restoration services on that as well). If you send us the case unnecessarily, we reserve the right to return-ship your case separately from your machine, incurring higher shipping costs for the return.
- Your belongings will be carefully tagged with a service tag and specific identification number for your machine and case or cabinet (if needed). Everything is tracked throughout our process (we’re pretty excited about our tracking system and might talk your ear off about it if you ask, because we really love organizing things). Your bobbin case will remain with your machine. When we reassemble, time the hook, and perfect the stitches, we want this to be accomplished with your bobbin case and your pedal, just as you will be sewing with your machine.
Payments
- You receive everything in writing via invoice, sent electronically via email.
- We invoice via Stripe through our LLC, and you can pay with credit card, debit, or direct bank transfer. Credit card transactions will have a small payment processing fee.
- We do not accept “gift transfers” through PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle.
- You are protected via Stripe and your credit card company, because we do not use “gift transfers” under any circumstances.
- Checks are accepted, but the deposit must clear before we start work, and final payment must clear before we return the finished machine. Contact us for a mailing address.
